Advantages of a closed dial (closed design)
✔ Better readability – Numbers and weather forecasts are often printed more clearly.
✔ Protected mechanism – Less chance of dust and dirt accumulation in the movement.
✔ Sleek and calmer design – Often a slightly calmer and more timeless look.

Advantages of an open dial
✔ More classic, nautical look – The visible aneroid mechanism gives an authentic, traditional look.
✔ Visually appealing – Gives a playful and technical effect because you can see how it works.
✔ For enthusiasts of mechanical instruments – Interesting for people who enjoy admiring the technology of the measuring instrument.
