• Use a soft microfiber cloth to gently remove dust and dirt without damaging the protective layer.
• Place the comfort meter in a dry place to prevent moisture and corrosion damage, especially in damp environments such as boats or campers.
• Avoid strong cleaning or polishing agents that may damage the protective coating of the comfort meter housing.
• Recalibrate the comfort meter at the start of the season, after extended storage, or if you have any doubts about its accuracy. You can find instructions on how to do this in the FAQ.
• What is a comfort meter?
A comfort meter combines a thermometer and a hygrometer in a single device. This makes the instrument suitable for accurately monitoring both temperature and humidity, ideal for use on board and at home to prevent moisture damage and maintain a comfortable indoor climate.
• Do I choose a thermometer, a hygrometer, or both?
Both instruments are useful: a thermometer monitors the temperature, while a hygrometer helps control humidity. For limited space, a comfort meter (a combination thermometer and hygrometer) is a practical solution.
How do I calibrate my comfort meter? To calibrate a comfort meter or hygrometer, place the instrument in a plastic bag with a damp sponge for half an hour. Immediately after unpacking, the hygrometer should indicate around 95%+ humidity. Then dry the housing with a clean cloth.
• What does an indoor thermometer do?
An indoor thermometer is ideal for accurate temperature readings, whether you're at home or at sea. The thermometers in our range are durable and designed to perform well in maritime conditions. Make sure you hang the thermometer inside the house or cabin for optimal performance.
• What does a hygrometer do? A hygrometer measures humidity, which is essential for preventing moisture problems, for example, on a boat where cushions and electronics are susceptible to mold and corrosion. A hygrometer also helps control humidity indoors for a healthier environment.
