• Regular cleaning

• Use a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, salt crystals or stains.
• Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that may damage the housing or dome.
• If necessary, use a little mild soap – rinse thoroughly with clean water and wipe dry with a soft cloth.

• Storage and protection

• If possible, store the compass indoors or cover it when not in use, especially on open boats.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight when the vessel is not in use to prevent yellowing of the dome.
• The compass is highly weather resistant, but a protective cover will extend the life of the surface and visibility.

• Check installation

• Check regularly whether the bracket is still firmly attached and whether there is any play.
• Check for any rust formation on fasteners, especially with prolonged use in salt water.

• Lighting and wiring

• Check the lighting function (12V) and associated wiring annually. Ensure the connection remains well insulated, especially when mounted outdoors.
