• Cleaning: clean with a soft, damp cloth and, if necessary, mild soap.

• No aggressive agents: avoid solvents, alcohol, abrasives and harsh degreasers (which can damage the dome/finish).

• Salt & splashes: If salt water is used extensively, rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth.
Keep the dome scratch-free: do not use scouring pads or place sharp objects on the compass.

• Check mounting: check occasionally whether the compass is still firmly attached and does not “rotate” due to vibrations.

• Lighting: Is your lighting not working? First check the connection/fuse and whether your system is set to 12-24V.

• Can I mount this compass on a slanted dashboard?
Yes. Thanks to the inner gimballed system, the card remains horizontal, even when mounted on a tilted panel.

• What is the difference between Flat dial and Conical dial?
Flat dial: sleek and minimalist.
Conical dial: gives more depth and is often just a little bit faster to read from an angle.

• What size hole do I need?
For this model the mounting hole is Ø 85 mm.

• Is this compass suitable for salt water?
Yes. It's made with corrosion-resistant materials and a sealed construction to keep water out.

• Does the compass have lighting?
Yes, with 12–24V lighting (useful for evening sailing or in a dark wheelhouse).

• Can the compass be affected by electronics or speakers?
Yes, strong magnetic fields can affect a compass. If possible, place it away from speakers, magnets, inverters, and large power cables.

• Do I need to calibrate the compass?
In many cases, it works right away, but any ship can have deviations. For optimal accuracy, you can perform a deviation check (especially with new installations or after making adjustments to equipment).
8) What if condensation forms in the dome?
This compass is sealed, so condensation shouldn't occur. If you do see it, check that the product isn't damaged and contact us for advice/warranty.
