The Barigo Captain barometer is an instrument with real presence. Large, classic, and designed to be seen, whether in the wheelhouse, the cabin, or as a stylish nautical accent on the wall at home or in the office. A luxurious ship's barometer that combines tradition with the precision of German craftsmanship.

The barometer is available in high-gloss mahogany with a solid brass housing (1585MS) or in piano-lacquered black with a chrome-plated housing (1585CR). Both versions give the instrument a powerful, classic look that fits perfectly into a nautical interior.

The heavy glass lid opens with sturdy hinges and a practical screw cap, providing easy access for calibration or maintenance. Inside, a precise barometer mechanism ensures reliable air pressure measurements.

The white dial with black Arabic numerals is clear and easy to read. An integrated thermometer at the bottom displays the temperature in degrees Celsius, making this instrument both practical and decorative. Combine the barometer with the Barigo Captain ship's clock for an impressive nautical ensemble that instantly evokes the feel of a classic wheelhouse.

• Keep dust-free: microfibre cloth, dry or slightly damp.
Cleaning glass: glass cleaner on cloth (do not spray on the instrument).

• Lacquer/mahogany: no abrasives or harsh cleaners; polish gently.

• Brass/chrome: clean gently and rub dry immediately for a lasting shine.

• Location: do not hang in direct sunlight or above a heat source (more stable measurement + better preservation).

• Calibration: check at the start of the season or after moving (air pressure may differ slightly locally).

• How do I read a barometer for weather forecast?
Pay particular attention to the change: rising pressure often indicates better weather; falling pressure indicates more changeable weather. The speed of change is telling.

• Where is the best place to hang this barometer?
In a place where you see it often, but not in direct sunlight and not above a heater/heater.

• How do I adjust the barometer?
It's usually set correctly from the factory. If you need to adjust it, find the current air pressure (e.g., your local weather station) and carefully adjust the needle using the adjustment mechanism.

• Does this work at any height?
Barometers are typically calibrated around sea level. Small elevation changes (a few stories) are usually not a problem; at higher altitudes, calibration may be necessary.

• What is the difference between 1585MS and 1585CR?
The technique is the same. The difference is in the finish: Mahogany/Brass (warm, classic) vs. Black/Chrome (modern, sleek).
