Towels in qualities that absorb moisture and release it again. Choose natural materials, in neutral colours or a striking design that reminds you of your favourite holiday spot. And bath mats with a non-slip backing that maintains grip on a wet and moving deck, more important on board than at home.
Two things that determine lifespan. Rinse your bath linen with fresh water after contact with salt water; salt damages the fibre and makes it stiff. And do not use fabric softener on towels, however tempting, as it seals the fibre and then it no longer absorbs moisture. That is the most common mistake with bath linen, both on board and at home.
Choose from calm plain shades in navy, white and sand or designs with a bit more character. What works on board, works just as well on the beach and in the bathroom at home. Also needed: bathroom accessories to keep everything in place, or bed linen for the cabin.
