Set the clock to high tide at mean tide (not spring or neap tide) according to your port's tidal table; on the North Sea, the table remains the arbiter, the clock provides the rhythm.

This indicator does not run on the sun but on the moon: one cycle in 12 hours and 25 minutes, from high tide to low tide and back. 130 mm matte chrome casing, matching the rest of the 4-inch series. For anyone who lives on, sails on, or runs aground on tidal waters.

Set the clock to high tide at mean tide (not spring or neap tide) according to your port's tidal table; on the North Sea, the table remains the arbiter, the clock provides the rhythm.

Clean the casing with a soft, dry cloth.
Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents.
Keep the glass dust-free for a clear reading.
Replace the battery in time to prevent leakage.
Treat the brass finish dry and carefully to maintain its appearance.

1. Do I need to set the barometer after receiving it? Yes, just once. The instrument is factory-set to sea level. If you live up to approximately 800–900 meters above sea level, you can set the pointer yourself to match the current atmospheric pressure reported by a weather station or weather radar in your area. Do you live higher? Please indicate this in advance — for an additional charge, we will set the instrument for your location. 2. How does the mechanism work? A falling pattern means bad weather is approaching, while a rising pattern means clearing skies. 3. What does the second (trailing) pointer mean? You set it to the current reading yourself. At the next reading, you can see at a glance how much the pressure has changed since then — the difference between the two pointers tells you more than the absolute number. 4. Does the barometer need a battery? No. The aneroid measurement works entirely mechanically: a membrane senses the atmospheric pressure, and the pointer displays it. No power, no maintenance. 5. Where is the best place to hang it? Indoors, out of direct sunlight and not above a heat source — temperature fluctuations make readings unstable. Atmospheric pressure is the same indoors and outdoors, so an interior wall is fine.
