• Wipe instruments with a soft microfiber cloth; the cases are lacquered, so do not use polishing or cleaning agents.
• Hang the set in a dry place to prevent moisture and corrosion damage.
• Replace the clock battery annually, even if it is still running — this prevents leakage.
• Re-adjust the barometer at the beginning of the season or after long storage.
• Why a tide clock AND barometer?
Together they tell the complete story: the tide determines when you can sail, and the air pressure trend tells you what kind of weather you'll encounter on the way.
• Do I need to set all instruments?
Only the tide clock (set at high tide) and the barometer (set once to local air pressure). The comfort meter works immediately.
• Which barometer is in this set?
The set comes with the Schatz aneroid barometer (without thermometer). Its sensitive mechanism reacts directly to pressure changes, so you can see an approaching weather change early.
• Can I also buy the instruments separately?
Yes, all instruments are available separately, but as a set, you benefit from a set discount and are assured of an identical design and color.
