After each reading, align the secondary pointer with the barometer needle; the difference you see next time is the weather forecast. Hang it indoors, away from direct sunlight and not above a heat source.

The A080B is an aneroid barometer that measures atmospheric pressure in hectopascals. The Hi-Sensitive mechanism magnifies the pointer movement 1.5 times, making the onset of a pressure drop or rise visible sooner. Compact size with an 80 mm dial in polished stainless steel, requires no battery or power.

After each reading, align the secondary pointer with the barometer needle; the difference you see next time is the weather forecast. Hang it indoors, away from direct sunlight and not above a heat source.

• How do you read a barometer?
A barometer indicates the current air pressure. For a weather forecast, look at the difference compared to the previous reading and how quickly the pressure has changed. Rapid pressure changes indicate short-term weather changes; slow changes indicate longer-lasting changes in the weather.

• Where should I hang my barometer?
Air pressure is the same everywhere, but avoid places in direct sunlight or above a heat source such as a heater. A prominent spot on the boat or in the house ensures that you notice pressure changes immediately.

• How do I calibrate my barometer?
Most barometers are calibrated at the factory. You can look up the current air pressure online and, if necessary, adjust the needle using a small screw on the back of the mechanical barometer. We are happy to help with any questions!

• Does a barometer work at any altitude?
Barometers are set to sea level. A few floors in a building usually make no difference, but calibration is required for use at higher altitudes, such as in the mountains.

Particularities

This instrument is set to sea level by default and is accurate up to approximately 800–900 meters altitude. Do you wish to use the instrument at a higher altitude? Please indicate this in advance — we can calibrate the instrument for your location for an additional charge. Hi-Sensitive mechanism: the needle moves 1.5× further than on a standard barometer. A mounting template for drilling is available.
