Set the reference needle to the barometer needle after each reading; the difference tells you more than the position itself. Hang indoors, out of the sun and not above a heat source.

The A100B is an aneroid barometer that measures atmospheric pressure in hectopascals. The Hi-Sensitive mechanism amplifies the needle movement 1.5 times, allowing the onset of pressure changes to be seen sooner. The 106 mm dial is easy to read even from a distance, housed in a mirror-polished stainless steel casing.

Set the reference needle to the barometer needle after each reading; the difference tells you more than the position itself. Hang indoors, out of the sun and not above a heat source.

• How do you read a barometer?
A barometer shows the current atmospheric pressure. For a weather forecast, look at the difference compared to the previous reading and how quickly the pressure has changed. Rapid pressure changes indicate short-term weather changes; slow changes point to more prolonged changes in weather.

• Where should I hang my barometer?
Atmospheric pressure is the same everywhere, but avoid places in direct sunlight or above a heat source such as a radiator. A conspicuous spot on the boat or in the house ensures that you notice pressure changes immediately.

• How do I adjust my barometer?
Most barometers are calibrated at the factory. You can look up the current atmospheric pressure online and, if necessary, adjust the needle using the small screw on the back of the mechanical barometer. We are happy to help if you have any questions!

• Does a barometer work at any altitude?
Barometers are set to sea level. Calibration is required for use at higher altitudes, such as in the mountains.

Particularities

This instrument is set to sea level by default and is accurate up to approximately 800–900 meters altitude. Do you wish to use the instrument at a higher altitude? Please indicate this in advance — we can calibrate the instrument for your location for an additional charge. Hi-Sensitive mechanism: the needle moves 1.5× further than on a standard barometer. A mounting template for drilling is available.
