Set the pointer to the next high tide for your home port according to the tide table.

The A130IM is a 150 mm tide clock that tracks the tidal cycle, indicating whether the tide is rising or falling. You set it to the high tide of your home port, after which it runs independently. The dial is printed in English and French, set behind mineral glass in a mirror-polished stainless steel case.

• How does a tide meter work?
A tide meter tracks the tidal cycle and indicates when it is high and low tide. The indicator moves continuously, making it easy to see whether the water is rising or falling.

• Do I need to set the tide meter?
Yes, the tide meter must be set once to the tides in the region where you are using it. You do this by synchronizing the meter with a local high tide. After that, the meter automatically follows the tidal pattern. If you move the meter to a different region, you must re-synchronize it for the new location.

• How do I set the tide meter?
There is a gear on the back of the instrument. Use this to set the tide indicator to the next high tide.

• Is the tide meter moisture-resistant?
To protect the housing of the tide meter, we recommend keeping it away from damp environments as much as possible. The cabin or a dry spot in the house are therefore ideal locations. This way, you combine practical information with a nautical look in your interior.

• How do I replace the tide meter’s battery?
You take the meter off the wall or the separate A130 mounting plate and replace the battery yourself. The meter runs on one AA battery (Mignon 1.5 V), which is not included. Do you keep the meter on your boat during the sailing season? If so, remove the battery at the end of the season to prevent potential leakage and damage.

• Can I use a tide meter indoors?
Yes. A tide meter is perfectly suited for indoor use. Once you have set the meter to your region, you can easily read when it is high and low tide. This allows you to plan your sailing trip or other coastal activities, for example.

• Is there a warranty on the tide meter?
Yes. When you purchase a tide meter, you receive a 2-year statutory warranty. This warranty covers damage or defects not caused by external influences or improper use, including issues with functionality and the movement.

• What is the difference between a tide meter and a tide clock?
A tide meter and a tide clock essentially provide the same information: they show when it is high and low tide and whether the water is rising or falling. The difference mainly lies in the inclusion or exclusion of timekeeping. A tide clock is the most common term for a clock with a tide indicator, while "tide meter" emphasizes the function of the instrument. In practice, the terms are often used interchangeably.
