• How do you read a barometer?
A barometer indicates the current air pressure. For a weather forecast, look at the difference compared to the previous reading and how quickly the pressure has changed. Rapid pressure changes indicate short-term weather changes; slow changes point to more prolonged weather shifts.
• Where should I hang my barometer?
Air pressure is the same everywhere, but avoid locations in direct sunlight or above a heat source such as a heater. A prominent spot on the boat or in the house ensures that you notice pressure changes immediately.
• How do I adjust my barometer?
Most barometers are calibrated at the factory. You can look up the current air pressure online and, if necessary, adjust the needle using a small screw on the back of the mechanical barometer. We are happy to help if you have any questions!

Barometers are set to sea level. For use at higher altitudes, such as in the mountains, calibration is required.
