Utilize every inch on board
On board, storage is not a side issue, it is the main issue. A boat has no attic, no utility room, and no garage. Everything that needs to go with you must be in or under something, and it should not shift when it gets windy.
Everything must be secure. That's the difference from storage at home. An open basket on a cabinet works fine in a living room, but on board, one wave is enough. Boxes with a lid that closes, shelves that you screw down, and bins that fit inside a cabinet instead of on top: that's what survives.
Teak, and why. Most items in this collection are made of teak or stainless steel. Teak requires almost no maintenance, does not splinter, and does not warp with fluctuating humidity, which is precisely what ordinary wood in a cabin succumbs to.
