Mount the correctors at a minimum of 150 mm from the compass system and have the adjustment performed by a certified compass adjuster. The magnets must ultimately be positioned exactly fore-and-aft (B) and athwartships (C).

The B+C corrector set consists of two identical units: one corrects the B-deviation caused by the ship's longitudinal magnetic field, the other the C-deviation caused by the athwartships field. Each unit corrects 35 to 40° using movable alnico magnets in a black stove-enamelled aluminium housing. The set is designed for Autonautic C20 compasses and fits many other compasses.
