This marine chronometer is a gold-plated brass clock with Roman numerals and a second hand, set on an inclined bed in a beechwood box with a mahogany finish measuring 200 x 200 x 85 mm. The lid features a clear panel, allowing the clock to be read whether open or closed. Technically not a classic chronometer, but a high-end quartz movement with a deviation of less than 1 second per day.
One second per day is the limit, and this timepiece stays within that.
The clock runs on one AA battery; replace it in time. Do not place the box in direct sunlight, as this will cause the mahogany finish to discolour.
