Set the dial to the next high tide for your home port according to the tide table. If you sail to another tidal area, reset it there.

The A080IM is a tide indicator that tracks the tidal cycle and shows whether the tide is coming in or going out. You set it to the high tide of your home port, and it then runs independently. The 80 mm dial is printed in English and French, and the housing is made of mirror-polished stainless steel.

Set the dial to the next high tide for your home port according to the tide table. If you sail to another tidal area, reset it there.

• How does a tide clock work?
A tide clock tracks the tidal cycle and indicates when it is high and low tide. The indicator moves continuously, so you can easily see whether the water is rising or falling.

• Do I need to set the tide clock?
Yes, the tide clock must be set once for the tides in the region where you are using it. You do this by synchronizing the clock with a local high tide. After that, it will automatically follow the tidal pattern. If you move the clock to a different region, you must re-synchronize it for the new location.

• How do I set the tide clock?
Thanks to the convenient rotating feature, you can easily adjust the tide clock. There is a gear on the back of the instrument. You use this gear to set the tide indicator.

• Is the tide clock moisture-resistant?
To protect the casing of the tide clock, we recommend keeping it away from humid environments as much as possible. The cabin or a dry spot in your home are therefore ideal locations. This way, you combine practical information with a nautical look in your interior.

• How do I replace the battery of the tide clock?
Thanks to the convenient mounting plate with a twist-off feature, you can easily replace the battery of the tide clock yourself. The clock runs on one AA battery (Mignon 1.5 V), which is not included. Is the clock hanging on your boat during the sailing season? Remove the battery at the end of the season to prevent possible leakage and damage.

• Can I use a tide clock indoors?
Yes. A tide clock is perfectly suited for indoor use. Once you have set the clock for your region, you can easily see when it is high and low tide. This allows you to plan your sailing trip or other coastal activities.

• Is there a warranty on the tide clock?
Yes. When purchasing a tide clock, you receive a two-year Vion warranty. This warranty covers damage or defects not caused by external influences or improper use, including issues with the functionality and the movement.

• What is the difference between a tide clock and a tide meter?
A tide meter and a tide clock basically provide the same information: they show when it is high and low tide and whether the water is rising or falling. The difference mainly lies in the combination with or without time display. A "tide clock" is the most common term for a clock with a tide indicator, while "tide meter" emphasizes the function of the instrument. In practice, the terms are often used interchangeably.
