Op een groter schip sta je vaak verder van het kompas dan je denkt, en dan maakt een kaart van 140 mm echt verschil. De fijne schaal per 2,5° maakt nauwkeurig koershouden eenvoudig.

Op een stalen romp is de optionele correctorset aan te raden; laat de compensatie uitvoeren door een erkende kompasregelaar. Zet de beschermkap erop zodra de boot stil ligt.
